Landlord Registration

Landlord registration became mandatory for almost all private landlords in April 2006. It is a requirement of the Antisocial Behaviour (Scotland) Act 2004, and is designed to ensure that landlords can be prosecuted if they fail to take reasonable steps to manage any antisocial behaviour caused by their tenants.

In order to ensure this, local authorities require details of all landlords so that they can be contacted if required. If your property is managed by Fairview Property, we will be contacted in the first instance, and will inform you and be on hand to assist in dealing with the matter.

The Fee to register as a Landlord is £55.00 with an additional £11.00 for each property owned. If a property is owned by joint owners (i.e. spouse) then all owners must apply and, unless they are related, each applicant must pay £55.00. Registration online attracts a 10% discount.
