Multiple Occupancy

Multiple Occupancy

Homes in Multiple Occupancy (HMO) legislation affects all properties with three or more unrelated tenants. All Scottish councils are required by law to introduce licensing systems to deal with HMO properties, which include shared flats and houses, bed-sits, lodgings, communal accommodation such as student residences and hostels.

Homes in Multiple Occupation must conform to specific requirements in order to be eligible for an HMO license. We work closely with our Landlords to ensure that any properties falling into this category meet the legal requirements and have the appropriate licenses.
